We have been introducing beauty painting from classic to contemporary in Japan. How do next generation connect the world of “beauty painting” nurtured rich by Kiyokata and Yumeji? Two artists, Okamoto Toko and Otake Ayana with high technique paint on the theme of women’s desire.

We introduce Kusumi Erika. She creates the photography collages weaving stories from destruction to rebirth with matelial which she has photographed landscape, buildings human bodies, plants, and more by herself.
At the Shukado booth we introduce comprehensive fine Japanese arts, not only contemporary but also modern arts including Edo period.
First of all, we exhibit the works of 5 young artists who pose the questions about the essentials of human and social matters through visionary expression.
Kawanabe Kyosai who had been active from the end of Edo period to the Meiji period (late 1800’s). After he studied Ukiyo-e from Kuniyoshi, entered the Kano-sect and studied painting in the traditional academy, so he created a myriad of works in a wide range of genres.
Kyosai garners more attention in recent years. We widely present his charm with his artworks housed by Shukado Gallery and the homage works by living artists to Kyosai.
