The main theme for this exhibition is not based on “beauty” but on “another world”.

Both Takagi Yo and Kakinuma Hiroki have this keyword in common and they equally got grand prizes in the exhibition of Ueno Royal Museum.
Takagi got a grand prize in 2015, and Kakinuma in 2017,respectively.Takagi with vigorous body well trained by his former profession of hard bodywork paints his weird world. His imaginary world spreads out on his canvas with reality to evoke the mutter of somebody which have been disregarded, as if he knows it through the psychic medium.

Kakinuma, using his special skill on the classical painting continues to paint the panoramic views of trick shooting on the encounter with aliens. Although aliens with a touch of humor are somewhat heartwarming, but the encounter with bizarre aliens are what he wants in earnest to represent.

Big sizes more than 2 m. are put in the center, they both compete each other to develop the inner depth of another world hidden in their imagination. Once again, the main theme is not “beauty” but “another world”.
